The day has come. 21st Dec 2012- Not exactly but on movie screen today. For all those who believe in ‘Judgement Day’ or ‘Apocalypse’ ‘ Or End of the world’, this is one movie that might give you an inkling. How effective and convincing is it? Let us see…
StoryThe much talked about Doomsday or end of the world has been predicted and while all developed nations of the world think it is a long time away, the Indian astrophysicist Satnam (Jimi) discovers that the end is quite near.
The news reaches even the President of US, Wilson (Danny Glover) and all key leaders in the world are alerted about it. Meanwhile, there is writer Jack Curtis (John) who is out on vacation with his children and before it actually begins, the fury of the planet begins to unfold.
Who survives the massacre? What happens after that? All this forms the rest of the story.
Performances:John CusackHe did his role as required and though he doesn’t have that tough guy image, he tried his best to fit in the role of a concerned father.
Chiwetel EjioforHe plays a key role and though he was not that effective during the emotional scenes, he managed to make his presence felt in other sequences.
Amanda PeetLooks hot and sexy and though there is no room for glamour here and she plays the mother of two, her oomph factor is neat and she has delivered a good performance.
OthersThandie Newton was alright, Danny Glover was decent, Woody Harrelson was a wreck, Oliver Platt did justice to his bit, Thomas Mc Carthy was evil enough, Beatrice Rosen was sexy to the core. The others did their bit as required.
Highlights of the movieCollapse of Lincoln Memorial TowerFall of Vatican CityBreaking statue of Jesus @ Rio De JeneroHimalayas melting into seaVolcanic eruptionsEarthquakes digging the roads and houses in CaliforniaBig ship episode
AnalysisIt is the most hyped movie from the past few months and entire world has been more worried, anxious and longing to watch what’s shown on silver screen. The myriad blogs, web portals and TV shows those have been active from many months have turned a default publicity agents for this movie that has released today.
The film didn’t convey anything concrete about Mayan Calendar or about prophesies of clairvoyant sages those had delivered about this 2012 dooms day. The maker has directly moved to the catastrophe that’s going to happen in the form of earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions et al and their unbelievable impact on life on earth.
The writer has taken a leaf from Old Testament and created a Noah ship kind of thing called ‘Big Ship’ to save human race to make the new age begin after the doom. The date of new age is read 27th of Dec 0001. This entire episode runs on screen for about last 20 minutes.
It’s like any other Hollywood movie like ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ but with intense scenes and thrilling moments.

KAVYA MADHAVAN
Kavya Madhavan refuses seven films
Kavya Madhavan says that she has refused seven films because she did not like the roles. She further adds that she is waiting for good roles in the re entry.
While speaking about this, she said,” There was strong news that I am donning a role of a witch lady in a Malayalam film. I am not doing the role of a witch lady. The hero is the black magician while I am donning the role of a police officer who apprehends him.
Apart from this film I got 7 offers after my marriage. I kept away from films because of my wrecked marriage. I was in a state of confusion whether to act or not. Now that I am separated and single I have decided to act.
Since this is my re-entry I am waiting for a good role. I also got an offer to act in a film which had four heroines. But I refused to do this role. There is no disparity for me between Tamil or Malayalam films. I will act in any language provided I get a good role.

ADHAVAN REVIEW
Aadhavan Movie Review
Aadhavan the most expected movie of this season is finally out with more expectation. The movie is likely to be the hat trick hit for Actor Suriya but there is a question rising on our minds that this movie would be the stop for Surya’s hit list???The movie story is all about a serial killer (Suriya) Gun Shooter who assigned to kill a magistrate (Murali) who yet to disclose the list of baddies involved in the illegal activities of transplanting the organs of poor children’s. Whether the serial killer accomplishes his task or whether he turns against the baddies forms the rest of the movie. Those who watched the Tamil movies often its easy to guess the remaining story as it script clearly evidenced in number of occasions in the Tamil cinemas previously.Actor Suriya with hits like “Vaaranam Aayiram” and “Ayan” looking to make an impact with B and C class audiences with Aadhavan but it fails in the end. Surya does his part well in the entire movie. Suriya is a director’s actor as whatever the situation compels for the movie he will do it perfect on screen. As a K.S.Ravikumar standards actor Suriya’s role can be said better than in this movie.Hot Sexy Actress Nayanthara is shown in a new manner and avoided showing her skin more to survive on the top list of Kollywood but the time to admire youth has gone to some other new actresses. Vadivelu comedy track is giving hand to the script. Late Malayalam actor Murali last encounter turns to a memorable outing for him.Music Composer Harris Jayaraj doesn’t give his best in Aadhavan as all the songs are repeatedly hear by Music lovers in his previous flicks. Actor Suriya costumes for songs shown his stylish looks but however tried to adopt similar dance steps in the entire songs. The movie is somewhat technically high but doesn’t help in for a lag script. However, Aadhavan has the common commercial elements but up to an extent. With new decision made by producer’s council the cine lovers are compelled to watch any movies on theatres but spending your valuable bucks it will hurt while watching. As the movie is hit on all the big screens it will heap collections and also continuous promos on TV’s it will be a strong contender for other Diwali movies.
